Hera Pheri 3: A Comedy Classic’s Comeback or character change ?

Paresh Rawal’s Sudden Exit Shakes the Project

One of the biggest shocks came when veteran actor Paresh Rawal, who plays the legendary character Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, reportedly walked out of the project midway. This wasn’t just a creative difference — Rawal had allegedly accepted a signing amount, participated in initial shoots, and then exited without formal notice.

This move didn’t sit well with Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, which is now said to be pursuing legal action against Rawal for breach of contract. Fans who idolize Baburao as the soul of Hera Pheri were left heartbroken and confused, while industry insiders expressed surprise over the sudden fallout.

Old Interviews Resurface, Hinting at Deeper Discontent

As the controversy gained traction, an old interview clip of Paresh Rawal resurfaced online. In it, he candidly admitted feeling suffocated by the repetitive portrayal of Baburao, calling it a “tight noose” around his career. While fans may love the character, it seems Rawal had reservations about reprising the same role yet again.

This revelation added fuel to the controversy, making people wonder if creative fatigue and typecasting fears played a part in his decision to back out.

Producer Rights, Legal Tangles, and More Drama

Behind the curtain, Hera Pheri 3 had already faced several obstacles. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala only recently regained full rights to the franchise after prolonged legal disputes with Eros International. With Akshay Kumar returning to the project and taking over production responsibilities, hopes were high for a clean reboot.

However, Paresh Rawal’s exit, coupled with a looming ₹25 crore lawsuit, has once again thrown the film’s future into uncertainty. While Suniel Shetty, who plays Shyam, expressed his disappointment and urged both actors to resolve their differences, tensions remain high.

Will Fans Ever See the Iconic Trio Together Again?

The real heartbreak for fans is the possibility of never seeing Raju, Shyam, and Baburao together on screen again. With no official word on recasting, renegotiations, or filming schedules, the fate of Hera Pheri 3 hangs by a thread.

Bollywood insiders hint that talks are still on to patch things up, and if all goes well, Paresh Rawal might reconsider — but nothing is confirmed yet.
